Student work samples during The Declaration of Independence unit. Students had a blast "texting" to break up with King George III and ROCKING to the hit song "Too Late to Apologize"!
One of our Model Teachers, Kayla Tech (8th grade science) uses this form to have students reflect and learn before retaking an assessment. Thank you Kayla for sharing this with us!

Check out the Resources tab and you will find several awesome websites that are Chromebook friendly for students to create amazing pieces of learning evidence! If you have others that you would like to see added to this list, please post them here!
Students are learning to flag their thinking as they read. The categorize the type of thinking they are doing and provide text evidence to support their thinking.
I got to learn from a totally cool penguin simulation in a science classroom today! 10 students pretended to be penguins. Each had a baggie for a stomach. "Food" was hidden around the room. One of the penguins had an injured foot and had to hop. Another penguin had a baby to feed. The penguins went around the room and "ate food" in a certain amount of time. Then the students added up the weight in food (great job including adding decimal numbers) to see how much food the penguin ate. The simulation will continue for 3 days (or in class, 3 rounds) where at the end students will explore the limitations of an ecosystem. WOW! What an amazing interactive way to help kids reach the science standard!!
